SKY RANCH INTERNATIONAL SERVICE TRIP: Belize
Sky Ranch is proud to partner with Praying Pelicans Missions to offer a service experience in Belize. The focus of the trip is to partner with local individuals and congregations, to hear their story, and to walk beside them, offering our gifts of service and love.
Belize is an English speaking country located in Central America and borders Mexico and Guatemala. The capital, Belmopan, is carved out of the jungle in the center of Belize, near the Maya Mountain foothills. Belize City, over 300 years old and the country’s main commercial area and seaport, is the largest city, boasting over 80,000 inhabitants and continually growing. It combines a mixture of colonial architecture, functional wooden buildings and historic cathedrals, exuding a ramshackle charm. Other towns of note are Dangriga, Punta Gorda, and the blooming beach town Placencia to the south, and Orange Walk and Corozal to the north.
In Belize, we will be staying in a hotel and working within a local community. During the day we will work on construction projects to benefit the community, as well as providing a Vacation Bible School program for neighborhood children. In the evening we will gather with them to listen to their stories and join together in worship. Throughout there will also be a Bible Study and various community building activities.
Praying Pelicans Missions is a missions organization focusing on short term mission trips in Belize,Haiti, Jamaica, and Mexico. Based in Duluth, MN, PPM has a history of safe and professional trips, facilitated through local contacts and local resources. Both PPM and Sky Ranch will have staff present on the trip.
