SKY RANCH EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES
ROTATING COUNSELORS Rotating counselors will be trained for and weekly rotated between onsite residential programs, day camp, and support staff positions. Must be able to work with youth of all ages and be out of high school at least one year.
Residential programs are based at Sky Ranch and involve responsibility for up to eleven campers during weekly camp sessions. Responsibilities include leading daily worship and small group Bible study, day hikes, games, arts activities, peace and justice activities, and providing for the care and safety of campers.
Day camp teams work in congregations throughout the region and involve leading daily Bible study and worship, games, arts activities, and providing for the care and safety of campers.
Resource Staff includes working as a program specialist, in the kitchen or as a ranch hand, as well as assisting in various aspects of Sky Ranch programming as needed.
OFFSITE GUIDES Offsite Guides will be rotated between the High Wilderness and Four Winds programs, as well as assisting in various aspects of Sky Ranch programming as needed. Must be skilled in wilderness camping and be in excellent physical condition for backpacking and have been out of high school at least one year. Two-thirds of the offsite guides are to be at least 21 years of age.
High Wilderness Trips Guides co-lead backpack groups and teach low-impact wilderness camping skills, environmental stewardship, and wilderness safety. Additional responsibilities include leading daily Bible study and worship, small group discussions, peace and justice education, and care and safety of campers.
Four Winds Service Trips are weeklong service opportunities for high school youth and held at Sky Ranch, on trail (working with the forest service with an Adopt-A-Trail program), at Harvest Farms in Wellington, CO (Harvest Farms is run by the Denver Rescue Mission and is for men battling addiction). For all of these trips, guides will integrate the service experience with the summer theme and the Bible Study. Responsibilities include worship, small group discussion, peace and justice education, and care and safety of campers.
SKY RANCH SUPPORT STAFF Additional staff members may be hired to support the program ministries of Sky Ranch. These positions will be considered on a case-by-case basis and may be combined with a counseling position for a rotating position. Support staff must be a minimum of 17 years old.
SKY RANCH KITCHEN STAFF Will assist in preparing meals each week for 100-200 campers, working with program staff on special meals, and assisting High Wilderness guides with backpack meal planning.
RANCH HANDS Will assist in maintenance, recycling, cleaning, housekeeping, laundry, and other tasks necessary for the safe and efficient operation of the camps.
